Napoli striker Romelu Lukaku ended his goal drought for Belgium in a 2-0 friendly win over Luka Modric’s Croatia, with many Serie A players involved.

This was a warm-up test for both teams going to the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada.

It was a special moment for the centre-forward, who managed to score only one goal this season for Napoli, on February 28 against Hellas Verona.

Lukaku has 90 goals for his country, but the most recent was in June 2025 against Wales.

His teammates in the Belgium squad today included Milan’s Alexis Saelemaekers, Charles De Ketelaere of Atalanta, and Napoli’s Kevin De Bruyne.

Milan defender Koni De Winter also came on as a substitute along with Lukaku.

Inter’s Petar Sucic and Como talent Martin Baturina were also in the starting XI, with Nikola Moro, Mario Pasalic, Marin Pongracic and Nikola Vlasic coming on for the restart.
