Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission had concluded its latest visit to Egypt ahead of Eid Al-Adha holiday, noting that the review process and coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and the Ministry of Finance are still ongoing.

Speaking at the government’s weekly press conference on Thursday, Madbouli said discussions related to the 7th review of Egypt’s current IMF-supported programme were progressing positively, expressing optimism that the results would be announced in the near future.

Madbouli added that the current programme with the IMF is scheduled to officially conclude at the end of December 2026.

He stressed that the Egyptian government does not currently see a need to enter into a new programme with the IMF once the existing arrangement expires.
