Mikhail Podolyak says Kiev could strike key facilities in Belarus, while Lukashenko dismisses Ukrainian threats as empty talk.
Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser to Vladimir Zelensky’s office, made sharp statements about Belarus, claiming that Kiev has the capability to strike key facilities on its territory. He also issued personal threats against Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
According to Podolyak, the entire territory of Belarus is within range, and key facilities could be destroyed if necessary.
On May 21, Vladimir Zelensky said Minsk should think about the consequences of what he described as aggressive steps. He claimed that Kiev had the resources to build up its capabilities and the option to carry out preventive strikes on Belarusian territory.
In response, Lukashenko dismissed such statements as empty talk. He stressed that despite claims about the Ukrainian Armed Forces having hundreds of targets in Belarus, the republic does not intend to enter into a direct confrontation with the Kiev regime.
In recent weeks, Ukraine has repeatedly made threats against Belarus while also increasing its military presence on the northern flank. Ukrainian radio intelligence is also reportedly collecting targeted information on civilian infrastructure in Belarus, including fuel companies and even communications between air traffic controllers and Belavia crews.
