Poland’s postseason run ends in regional final
MASSILLON, Ohio (WKBN) – Poland fell to Waynedale 5-1 in the OHSAA Division V Baseball Regional Final in Massillon on Thursday evening.
Bulldogs senior Owen McKenzie allowed just one run through the first five innings.
But the Golden Bears posted a three-run fifth inning to seal up a trip to the state final four.
Zach Marantis drove in the lone run for the Bulldogs with an RBI single in the 6th inning.
Poland’s season comes to an end with a record of 19-7.
Waynedale advances to face Lucasville Valley in the Division V State Semifinals on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium in Canton.
The Bears have advanced to state for the fifth straight year, and are seeking their fourth state championship.
