Celebrate all things Italy on June 7 when the Caruso Club hosts a Festa della Repubblica (Italian Republic Day) with an afternoon of fun.
Republic Day this year celebrates the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Italy.
Caruso Club will be celebrating the event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in its Heritage Hall (the lower hall).
The Italian club has an afternoon of activities planned, opening with a proclamation from Mayor Paul Lefebvre declaring June as “Italian Heritage Month,” and the raising of the flag.
After the proclamation, the Piazza Italiana opens, where folks can visit Italian vendor booths, and see demonstrations and exhibitions “to savour and experience everything that Italy has to offer — from food to dry goods, books and visual artists.”
Don’t forget to visit the spritz bar, and Café Caruso will be open for lunch orders, while takeout orders for dinner will also be available. There will also be free crafts for the kids.
The club is offering a takeout special of gnocchi and chicken for dinner, priced at $20 for adults and $10 for children (10 and under). Pre-orders are recommended.
