The trade and economic sector has traditionally been the foundation of the relationships between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan — as stated by Belarus’ Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin during his today’s meeting with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev, sb.by reports

Mr. Turchin highlighted that despite external difficulties, mutual trade is showing positive growth, stating, “Our goal is to strengthen this trend and ensure its sustainable development by broadening the range of products and deepening co-operative ties. Belarus is ready to increase its involvement in joint projects, leveraging the complementary nature of our economies and the benefits of EAEU membership. While not everything succeeds immediately, I am confident that these projects represent the future.”

The Belarusian PM pointed out that Kyrgyzstan possesses production facilities and skilled labour, adding that Belarus is willing to share technology and arrange internships for Belarusian experts at relevant enterprises, “The established industrial commission should identify obstacles hindering industrial co-operation and select the most feasible projects.”

Mr. Turchin also noted that successful project implementation requires government-level support and the creation of favourable conditions for domestic producers.

“At this stage, our joint production of power transformers seems the most promising. We understand that modernising and upgrading Kyrgyzstan’s energy infrastructure is urgent, with a significant demand for suitable equipment. Much progress has already been made, and given the project’s importance, efforts should focus on its swift launch. As a successful example of industrial co-operation, I want to highlight the long-standing partnership between Belarusian engineering firms and Avtomash Radiator, which supplies quality radiators to leading Belarusian engineering companies while also promoting Belarusian machinery in your market,” the PM emphasised.
