On 5 July, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov, who is visiting our country within the framework of the Ministerial Meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement.
At the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the upward development of the historically existing traditional friendship and brotherhood ties between the two peoples, mutual political trust and relations between the two countries, and the importance of further expanding comprehensive strategic partnership relations was emphasized. In this regard, the exceptional role of contacts based on brotherhood and friendship at the level of the leaders of both countries was mentioned.
The current state of relations between the two countries, issues arising from high-level contacts carried out on a regular basis, and opportunities for expanding cooperation in political, socio-economic, humanitarian and other areas of mutual interest were also discussed. In this regard, the importance of defining a sustainable road map as an institutional dialogue mechanism between the two countries was noted.
At the meeting, cooperation and mutual support on international platforms, along with the bilateral plane, were also emphasized with satisfaction.
Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, thanking for the invitation to this prestigious event held in our country today, congratulated Azerbaijan on organizing the event at a high level and highly appreciated the initiatives implemented within the framework of our country’s successful chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement. He emphasized that it was precisely during Azerbaijan’s chairmanship that the Movement developed in a sustainable and dynamic manner.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
