The Delegation of the European Union to North Macedonia and the Embassy of Albania in Skopje are organizing a bicycle tour around Lake Ohrid to mark Europe Day and promote sustainable mobility, environmental awareness, healthy lifestyles, and civic engagement.
The cycling tour will start in Struga, continue to Pogradec via the Qafe Thane border crossing, and then cyclists from both countries will return to North Macedonia through the Sveti Naum border crossing. They will pass through Ohrid before finishing the route back in Struga.
“The trail around Lake Ohrid connects communities on both sides of the border around one of the region’s most important natural and cultural landmarks. The cycling tour highlights the importance of regional cooperation and people-to-people connections in building a greener and more united future. It symbolizes a shared celebration of European values, cooperation, and sustainability,” the EU Delegation in North Macedonia said in a statement.
