Lee Jung-hoo of San Francisco Giants has set a record for the longest streak of hits by a South Korean player in the Major Leagues Baseball.
The 27-year-old hit two-for-five with two RBIs to continue his hitting streak to 17 games during a home game against the Washington Nationals at Oracle Park on Tuesday.
It was also Lee’s 22nd multihit game of the season.
The Giants, however, lost to the Nationals three-to-six.
Lee has surpassed the previous record of consecutive 16 MLB games among South Korean batters that was set by Choo Shin-soo while playing for the Cincinnati Reds in 2013 and by Kim Ha-seong with the San Diego Padres in 2023.
