Luxembourg based international rental company Mateco has opened a new facility in Lași, northeast Romania, its 11th location in the country.

The company says the new location will act as the template for a modernisation programme that will next focus on sites in Cluj-Napoca, Brașov and Constanța, before being rolled out across the rest of the company’s existing branch network in Romania, aiming to improve turnaround and delivery times throughout the country.

Cristian Hiver, general manager of Mateco Romania said: “The central and eastern Europe market, and Romania in particular, is experiencing dynamic industrial and infrastructure growth. Moving our operations to a custom built, international standard facility allows us to keep pace with our partners’ large scale projects.”

Mateco Romania was set up in 2005, while the Mateco group as a whole – which was originally German based dates from 1973 and now runs around 45,000 aerial lifts and telehandlers across 15 countries from 210 locations in Europe and South America.
