The Portugal national team arrived in the United States on Friday afternoon to train at its base in Palm Beach Gardens, Miami, Florida.Â
Before departing for the United States, Cristiano Ronaldo referred to the national team’s great generation as they look to compete for the World Cup.Â
“We are approaching the World Cup with a lot of joy. We know it is a special competition, just like the European Championship, and we go with a lot of hope.”
“It will be known at the end whether we are contenders. It is a very good generation, but there are factors we cannot control, such as the matches, winning or not winning, which is the most important thing,” mentioned #El Bicho”.Â
Portugal will begin its World Cup journey in Houston, where it will face DR Congo in the opening match of the group stage on Wednesday, June 17.Â
