Monday, June 15th
SCAI – Scandinavian Conference on Artificial Intelligence
On Monday, June 15th, SCAI 2026 invites researchers and thought leaders to share their insights on the development of AI. The event takes place at SDU (University of Southern Denmark) on June, 15th and 16th in Odense.
Thursday, June 18th
Heartland
The culture festival known as Heartland starts on June 18th. Known for its beautiful surroundings at Egeskov Slot on Fyn, for the 10th year running, this festival will host music, art, talks, gastronomical experiences, and glamping. This year’s lineup features several big Danish names, such as The Minds of 99 and Gnags, but also some big international ones, among others, Duran Duran and 4 Non Blondes. Fanø International Kite Fliers Meeting
Thursday also sees the beginning of the annual Kite Fliers Meeting which takes place on the west coast of Denmark in Fanø. For kite fliers and enthusiasts alike, this is an event worth experiencing, as 5000 kites soar the skies for four days.
Sol over Gudhjem
Denmark’s biggest food festival takes place in Gudhjem on Bornholm, starting on June 18th with drinks and dinner prepared by Denmark’s top chefs. Although the festival is worth visiting for the markets and entertainment alone, Sol over Gudhjem is particularly known for its food competitions. The dessert competition takes place on Friday, while the general chef-competition is on Saturday. This is one of the country’s most prestigious cooking competitions, and showcases some of Denmark’s top cooking.
Friday, June 19th
The Weeknd
On Friday, June 19th, The Weeknd’s After Hours til Dawn tour makes its way to Parken in Copenhagen for the first of two concerts. The award-winning, Canadian singer is known for hits such as “I Can’t Feel My Face”, “Starboy, “Blinding Lights” and more. With almost sold out shows on both Friday and Saturday, expect a busy Østerbro and a packed metro.
Viborg Snapsting Festival
A week of music, markets, sports and celebrations in the heart of Viborg starts on Friday, June 19th.Taking inspiration from the town’s history of markets and culture dating back to the 1700’s, this festival is a colourful street party with children’s activities, street theatre, performances, and international sporting events. Opening of James Turrell’s Skyspace at ARoS
The official opening of James Turrell’s Skyspace at ARoS takes place on Friday, June 19th. Be the first to preview the exhibit, experience concerts and family friendly workshops, and maybe catch a glimpse of the Royal Couple, as the King and Queen arrive at 18.30. World’s Wildest Bridge Builders
For the 6th year running, the “World’s Wildest Bridge Builders” (or Verdens Vildeste Brobyggere in Danish) will take place; this year in Holbæk. The event is a live competition, which gives students seven hours to build a real, functioning bridge. Professionals from engineering- and architecture companies such as COWI and Rambøll will judge the results and find a winner. Hats, Boots and Bourbon in Tivoli

Saturday, June 20th
Stella Polaris
The electronica festival, Stella Polaris, kicks off on Saturday, June 20th, with a day of concerts and performances in Frederiksberg Have. The largest, free, electronica festival in Denmark tours the country, this year starting in Copenhagen, and making its way to Aabenraa and Aarhus in August. Known as a picnic festival, this is a great opportunity to lounge in the grass and enjoy some downtempo electronic music in picturesque environments.
Sunday, June 21st
Ironman Helsingør
Helsingør is the host of this year’s half Ironman competition, which officially takes place on Sunday, June 21st, but with numerous fun events planned weekendlong. The race, which consists of a 1,9km swim, a 90km bike, and a half marathon (21,1km), starts and finishes in the beautiful streets of Helsingør. The Ironmen and -women can look forward to a beautiful course, with the swim starting in the harbour next to Kronborg Castle, the bike ride taking them north, along the coastline and then through the countryside, and the run bringing them through the beautiful, old streets of the city. Expect traffic disruptions throughout the weekend, as the city prepares for the race.
Greenland’s National Day
Greenland’s National Day (or Inuiattut ullorsiorneq in Greenlandic) is on June 21st, and coincides with summer solstice, making it the longest day of the year above the arctic circle. The Greenlandic House in the centre of Copenhagen has planned a full day of events with food, talks, open-mic sessions, and face paint for kids.
