U.S. President Donald Trump said a memorandum of understanding to end fighting between the United States and Iran will be signed Sunday, after Iranian officials cast doubt on the timing.

In a social media post Saturday, Trump wrote that the deal is scheduled to be signed Sunday and that the Strait of Hormuz will be “open to all” immediately afterward.

Trump claimed the agreement would serve as a “wall to no nuclear weapon,” adding that Iran no longer wants to pursue a nuclear weapon.

In an apparent reference to Iran’s highly enriched uranium stockpiles, Trump said the United States would retrieve and destroy the “nuclear dust” at an appropriate time once the situation has stabilized.

Before Trump’s post, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei urged caution about the timeline, saying the exact signing date remained uncertain and that the signing would not take place Sunday.
