A magnitude 6.3 earthquake has rattled the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences, the tremor hit on Monday.
The earthquake was registered at a considerable depth of 117 kilometers (72.7 miles), adding complexity to the assessment of its impact.
Authorities are currently evaluating the situation to determine any damage or casualties resulting from the quake.
