Nikola Jokic is set to return to the Serbia national team after being named in head coach Dusan Alimpijevic’s preliminary roster for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifiers.

Serbia has officially revealed its preliminary roster for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifying windows, and the biggest headline is Nikola Jokic.

The Denver Nuggets superstar is set to rejoin the national team since last summer’s EuroBasket campaign, giving Serbia a major boost ahead of an important stretch of international competition.

Bogdan Bogdanovic is not available for the upcoming window. Serbia will also be missing Nikola Milutinov, Marko Guduric, Filip Petrusev, and young guard Nikola Topic.

Preparations for the qualifying campaign will begin on June 22, when players gather for training camp.

Before official games begin, Serbia will play a friendly against the Czech Republic on June 27. The exhibition matchup will allow the coaching staff to evaluate combinations and build chemistry ahead of the qualifiers.

Serbia will travel to face Switzerland on July 2 before returning home for a matchup against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Belgrade on July 6.
