    Features and context of deliveries

The Piranha-5 is one of the most modern wheeled armored personnel carriers in service around the world, and is currently used by several NATO member states and partners. This APC is characterized by a high level of crew protection, enhanced mobility, and operational flexibility.

Earlier, Germany delivered 19 Piranha IIIH armored personnel carriers to Moldova. This military equipment was provided to Moldova free of charge under the relevant agreement.

According to the Moldovan government, the country intends to establish the production of interceptor drones to defend its airspace and to seek the relevant technologies from Ukraine.

Such deliveries indicate further modernization of the country’s defense capability and strengthening defense ties with partners, especially in the areas of intelligence and defense technologies. This underscores Moldova’s commitment to improving its defense capabilities and deepening cooperation with allies.
