MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) – A Marquette County brewery has decided to close its doors.
Barrel + Beam announced through a Facebook post on Thursday that the brewery will close after nine years in business.
“When we started this journey, our goal was simple: brew world-class beer with exceptional ingredients and breathe new life into a beloved Marquette landmark. Thanks to all of you, it became so much more,” the owners said in the post.
The post cites challenges with rising costs, inflation, tariffs and the current economic environment as a partial reason for the closure. However, the pair says the final decision came down to family, writing:
“After much reflection, we’ve came to realize the sacrifices required to continue were no longer sustainable.”
The post ends by thanking the community for “an unforgettable nine years.”
