Yago dos Santos has officially moved back to Brazil, joining Flamengo on a two-year deal after spending the last four seasons in Europe.
After spending the last four seasons in Europe, 27-year-old Brazilian guard Yago dos Santos is moving back to Brazil.
Flamengo have officially announced that they are bringing back the national team point guard on a new two-year deal.
“I’m not coming back because I don’t have options. I’m coming back because of a personal choice,” the guard said in the team’s official press release.
“It’s a choice to have that sparkle in my eyes again, to have the happiness of playing, of being loved and of feeling that people care. I think that is worth more than anything at this moment in my life. I believe this decision will bring great things for me, for Flamengo, for my family and for Brazilian basketball.”

The 1.78-meter guard quickly made his name in European basketball after arriving in the 2022-23 season.
In his first season with Ratiopharm Ulm, he helped the team win the first German League title in club history.
The following year, he moved to Crvena Zvezda in Serbia, where he began playing in the EuroLeague, Europe’s top club competition. With the Serbian team, he won the ABA League, the Serbian League and two Serbian Cups, while also being named ABA League Finals MVP in 2024.
Late in the 2025-26 season, he played for Virtus Bologna in Italy before choosing to return to Brazil.
This past season, Yago dos Santos appeared in 25 EuroLeague games, averaging 2.6 points and 2.2 assists per game with Crvena Zvezda.
