PENN YAN — This year’s “Concerts on the Courthouse Lawn” will open with the Decades Band June 24 at 6:30 p.m. It is sponsored by Bow & Wow K-9 B&B, Pinckney Hardware and Hampsey Law Firm.
These concerts, which are presented by the Yates Concert Series, will take place on the old courthouse lawn on Main and Court streets. They will continue Wednesday nights through Aug. 12 and are free to all.
With the Decades Band, experience musical time travel with 10 decades of hits from multiple genres. They are a crowd favorite.
Bring your own lawn chair. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held indoors at the First Baptist Church next door.
The Penn Yan United Methodist Church will sell snacks before the concert and during intermission. If you get there before the concert begins you can buy hot dogs and hamburgers from the First Baptist Church’s concession stand.
There is plenty of free parking.
These concerts are funded partially through grants from the James P. Gordon Trust and the Auburn Public Theatre Regrants Program, with the support of the governor’s office and the state legislature.
