National championships – Vacek, Kubis, Cort Nielsen and Gogl win titles as Spain sees shock winner in Camprubí

Out of these nations, Spain takes the spotlight and after last year the time trial event saw a shock winner in Abel Balderstone, this time around it was the road race that delivered the shock and surprise. The new Spanish national champion is Marcel Camprubí, who succeeded out of the group that ended up having the best timing in the entire race.

The Pinarello – Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team rider, 24 years of age, has taken his first win as a professional rider in Sabiñago in a race that proved to be very tactical. He was the strongest out of a group of five in the final hilly circuit, and dropped fellow ProTeam rivals Joel Nicolau and Urko Berrade to take a breakthrough victory.
