BLOWING ROCK — Tweetsie Railroad will host its July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza on July 4 at 300 Tweetsie Railroad Ln. in Blowing Rock, with extended park hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and fireworks beginning at 9:30 p.m.
The event marks Independence Day, America’s 250th anniversary and Tweetsie Railroad’s 69th anniversary. The fireworks show is one of the largest fireworks shows in the High Country.
The event is designed for families with younger children, including parents and grandparents, looking for a nostalgic theme park experience in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Daily admission includes the Wild West Train Adventure, unlimited amusement rides, live interactive shows, Deer Park Zoo and panning for gold.
“July 4 is one of the most important dates on the calendar for Tweetsie Railroad, and this year’s event brings together Independence Day, America’s 250th anniversary and the park’s 69th anniversary,” said Chris Robbins, President. “We look forward to welcoming families for a full day at the park and fireworks in the High Country.”

Tweetsie Railroad will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on July 4. The fireworks show begins at 9:30 p.m. Admission is $65 for adults ages 13 and older, $45 for children ages 3–12, and free for toddlers ages 2 and under. Parking is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis; an admission ticket does not guarantee a parking spot.
Daily Admission Tickets may be used during regular daytime operations through November 1, 2026, and cannot be used for Ghost Train® or Tweetsie Christmas®. The After 3 Ticket allows admission after 3 p.m. and admission the following day.
