Crypto exchange Kraken is seeking a European banking license, CoinDesk reported on July 7.
Kraken is considering Lithuania as the jurisdiction for the approval, the report said. If successful, Kraken would become the first cryptocurrency exchange to hold a full European banking license.
Kraken has not issued an official response on the plan. Lithuania’s central bank said licensing procedures for financial-market participants are confidential.
