    COURTHOUSE,
    July 7 – A defendant whom the
    prosecutors emphasized was an
    armed career criminal now
charged with gun sales was the
subject of a bail fight on
July 7 in the U.S. District
    Court for the Southern
    District of New York
    Magistrates Court. Inner City
    Press was the only media
    there, and live tweeted it:

AUSA: He’s 30 years old and has seven
felony convictions, six in New York, one in
Connecticut.  Under 924(e) he faces 15 year
minimum, so has incentive to flee to
Albania. Defense: He’s lived in the
same address for 19 years. His parents are
supers in the building. He’s his mother’s home
health aide. He’s been clean 11 years

Judge: What about his offer to commit
burglary? Defense: People brag in the street
    all the time.

Judge: When was he incarcerated? Defense: From
    2018 to 2023. Judge: I can’t give him credit
for no burglary during those years… I am
    detaining him.
