Gov. Kelly Ayotte held a ceremonial bill signing Thursday to highlight a new childcare tax credit. The legislation launches a new childcare creation tax credit aiming to incentivize companies to invest in childcare opportunities for their own employees. “Businesses are going to expand childcare that otherwise wouldn’t, and so certainly, the exact number is not clear, but it will have an impact where hundreds of slots are there that weren’t otherwise there,” Ayotte said. The tax credit is capped at $5 million per year for each business that invests in more childcare access.
