SCARBOROUGH (WGME) – Three new businesses are coming to Scarborough.
The developer behind The Downs says Verizon, Maine Community Bank and NBT Bank are coming to town center, which is part of the plan.
Developers say they’ve built more than 50 businesses in the seven years since the start of the project.
They say that’s led to more than 1,500 new jobs so far, with more on the way.
They’ve also built more than 700 residential units, helping put a dent in the state’s housing crisis.
Work on The Downs started in 2019. Developers broke ground on the town center in 2023.
