Quick reactions sent Polish jets after two Su-30 fighters and an Il-20 reconnaissance plane over the Baltic coast. Officials said no breach of Polish airspace was recorded.
Poland scrambled fighter jets twice in one day to intercept Russian aircraft over the Baltic Sea: first the Su-30, then the Il-20.

According to the defense minister, the Russian side is again testing the capabilities of Polish air defense systems.
Initially a pair of Polish fighters from the Malbork base intercepted two Russian multi-role Su-30 aircraft over the Baltic Sea. After completing this operation, the Polish planes received a new task – to intercept the Russian reconnaissance Il-20, which was located about 30 kilometers north of the settlement of Yastshembya Gura.

After the escort was completed, the Russian Il-20 was handed over to Swedish combat aircraft for escort, which the defense minister confirmed.
He stressed that in both cases the Russian aircraft did not violate Polish airspace.
According to the defense minister, for the third day in a row Polish fighters are intercepting Russian military aviation over the Baltic Sea.
On July 15, over the Baltic Sea, two Russian Su-30SM2 aircraft, which were monitoring exercises on the interoperability of air defense systems, were intercepted.
Such actions underscore the high readiness of the Polish Air Force to respond to Russian aviation activity in the region.
