Autostrada is constructing a temporary technological bridge across the Dniester River leading to the future Yampil–Cosăuți international border crossing between Ukraine and Moldova. The construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026, the company said.
The temporary bridge will provide an alternative road connection between Ukraine and Moldova and create a shorter route between the Ukrainian city of Vinnytsia and the Moldovan city of Soroca. The new route is expected to reduce the travel distance by nearly 30 kilometers, making passenger and freight transportation faster and more efficient.
“At the same time, the temporary bridge will serve as the technological and logistical foundation for resuming the construction of the main international bridge across the Dniester, which will be 1,309 meters long. Autostrada launched this large-scale infrastructure project back in 2021, but construction was suspended after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion,” the company said.
The temporary bridge will be 276 meters long. The structure includes 24 steel piles driven into the riverbed, steel girders, and a reinforced concrete deck.
So far, 96 meters of the bridge have been completed. Construction is gradually approaching the middle of the Dniester River, where the state border runs. Beginning with the 12th support, work will continue on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
At the same time, Autostrada’s road crews are building an access road to the new bridge crossing on the Ukrainian side.

- The project was estimated to cost UAH 3.4 billion. In October 2025, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Moldova Paun Rohovei described the Cosăuți–Yampil bridge as “a huge and very expensive project.”
- Despite financial challenges, construction was not suspended.In 2026, the Ukrainian government allocated UAH 383.8 million from the state budget’s reserve fund for the construction of the temporary technological bridge.
