Kentucky Congressman Morgan McGarvey calling for end to Iran war

DOVER BASE HOUSING, Del. —

A dignified transfer was held at Dover Air Force Base Wednesday in Delaware for four U.S. service members killed in the Iran War.

President Donald Trump met privately with their families before saluting as their remains were moved from a military aircraft.

Three of the soldiers were killed in an attack on a U.S. air base in Jordan, while the fourth died while disposing of a downed Iranian drone in Iraq.

Kentucky Congressman Morgan McGarvey said the war needs to end.

“There are 18 Americans dead. A 19 year old is coming home in a coffin… her family is never going to have her home for the holidays again,” he said. “The president is spending tens of billions of dollars of taxpayer money for a war he started, he has no exit strategy for, and not only is it costing American lives, you can just drive down the road right now see what its doing to the price of gas and price of goods. He has no way to get out of this war shouldn’t have started in the first place. Congress needs to take this power away from him.”

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul is also opposed to the war and said on Wednesday the U.S. is worse off now than before it started.
