GLADWIN COUNTY, Mich. (WNEM) — Over 4,600 Consumers Energy customers in Gladwin County can expect a power outage in August.
An outage is scheduled for Secord and Hay townships, plus the area around Smallwood Dam on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 10 p.m. It could last as late as 7 a.m. Aug. 2. Consumers Energy said it mailed notices to affected customers.
The electricity must be shut off so the utility company can upgrade its high-voltage power system.
Consumers Energy said it may schedule additional power interruptions in September and October to safely replace existing equipment and install a new power line.
