Poland Walgreens Crash

    One person was arrested on Sunday, July 26, following a crash along West McKinley Way in Poland.

    According to a Facebook post from the Poland Fire District page, responders with the Poland Fire Department were called to the intersection of West McKinley Way and U.S. Route 224 around 6:30 a.m. for reports of a car on fire.

    When crews arrived, officers determined that a vehicle had crashed through a nearby Walgreens parking lot, hitting several trees and a light pole before coming to rest on U.S. Route 224, where the car was found on fire.

    No one was reportedly injured in this crash. Duty crews were able to successfully put out the fire.

    A dispatcher with the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) tells 21 News that one person was arrested in connection with this incident, calling it an OVI incident involving one vehicle and one driver.

    The dispatcher also clarified that the driver of the vehicle struck a hydrant.

    Booking records from the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office show a Jamin Jama, 31, pictured below, booked into the jail on an OVI impaired charge.
