Kathmandu. Nepal has been defeated by Netherlands by 57 runs in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 match.
Batting first in the match, Netherlands scored 225 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Noah Cross contributed 70 runs off 93 balls for the Netherlands, while Scott Edwards played a half-century innings of 57 runs off 91 balls. Similarly, Logan van Beek added 27 runs off 27 balls.
In bowling, Nepal’s Karan KC took 4 wickets for 30 runs in 10 overs. Dipendra Singh Airee gave 30 runs for 2 wickets in 5 overs, and Lalit Rajbanshi took 1 wicket for 32 runs in 10 overs.
The Nepali team, chasing a target of 226 runs, was all out for 168 runs in 48 overs. Asif Sheikh scored a maximum of 38 runs off 78 balls for Nepal. Similarly, Rohit Paudel scored 26 runs off 38 balls and Karan KC scored 23 runs off 29 balls.
