POLAND TWP. – The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the four-year-old boy killed in a crash in Poland Township on Tuesday.
The Coroner’s Office identified the child as Cassius Huddleston. Cassius died in the hospital following the crash.
The crash happened at the intersection of Poland Way and Route 224 when an SUV driven by 61-year-old Rosemary Huddleston drove off the road and down an embankment.
Rosemary sustained serious injuries, and a four-month-old infant, who was also in the car at the time, only sustained minor injuries.
Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said that no one in the car was wearing a seatbelt, and drugs are believed to have contributed to the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
