The Republic of Moldova plans to sell the state-owned Chisinau Glass Factory.
Founded in 1970, the Chişinău glass production facility manufactures glass packaging and glassware, including wine, baby food, and sauces, exporting to 24 countries worldwide.
It has been offered through an investment contest as a single property complex.
The initial exposure price is MDL 773 million (€38 million).
Interested parties must commit to minimum investments of more than €20.5 million within three years.
The factory’s estimated market value is over 756 million lei ($170 million), and it has a current production capacity of 200 tonnes of molten glass per day.
The deadline for offers is 30 September at 5pm Chisinau time.
Invest Moldova Agency, who announced the privatisation, said: “Through the privatisation of these assets, Moldova aims to support the efficient use of public property, attract private investment and create conditions for the further development and modernisation of selected enterprises and assets.”
Participation is open to individuals and legal entities from Moldova, fully private foreign individuals and legal entities, stateless persons, and associations of eligible participants.
