Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has made his first visit to Serbia since taking office.
The Balkan country has been historically friendly to Russia, with deep ties in the energy sector. Serbia has not joined the sanctions against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.
During his two-day visit that ended on Saturday, Zelenskyy met Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. They exchanged opinions on a free trade agreement.
Zelenskyy later told reporters that the two countries are developing all forms of cooperation, and there are projects related to the reconstruction of Ukraine that they can implement together.
Vucic responded that Serbia supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
Zelenskyy is believed to be aiming to warn Russia by showcasing his visit to a country that is friendly towards Moscow.
