The planned meeting brings together several European leaders, while NATO has yet to disclose which issues will shape the discussion.
NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska will take part remotely in a meeting of the “Coalition of the Willing” on August 24. The North Atlantic Alliance’s press service announced her participation.
The meeting is scheduled for Ukraine’s Independence Day. It will be chaired by UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
NATO headquarters has not yet specified which issues the meeting participants will discuss.
Ukraine’s Cooperation with the “Coalition of the Willing”
In July, Ukraine and nine partner countries announced the formation of an Anti-Ballistic Coalition. The declaration establishing it was approved on July 13 at a “Coalition of the Willing” summit held in Paris.
The “Coalition of the Willing” was launched by the United Kingdom and France in spring 2025. The group currently includes around 30 countries, including EU member states, the United States, Australia, and Japan.
