This afternoon, an aerial object conducted an unauthorized overflight of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova, entering the country from the direction of Ukraine and later returning along the same route. The incident occurred in the context of today’s airstrikes launched by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
According to the Air Operations Service of the National Army, the aerial object was detected at 15:50, after it crossed the state border near the locality of Dnestrovsk, in the Transnistrian region, coming from the locality of Limanske, Odesa region, Ukraine.
At 15:59, the object crossed the state border again, from Dnestrovsk towards Limanske, following the same flight path.
The authorities note that the unauthorized overflight of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova took place as a result of today’s air attacks carried out by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The national authorities, together with their partners, continue to monitor the airspace in order to ensure the safety of the population.
