HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The City and County of Honolulu has launched a new program aimed at helping small businesses prepare for disasters and recover faster afterward.
Stay Open Oahu is a free expansion of the Oahu Business Connector that gives small business owners access to preparedness information, planning tools and community resources.
The program includes an online resource hub, a disaster preparedness guidebook and free workshops across the island.
“It provides a whole bunch of information on how small businesses can prepare ahead of time for disasters and mitigate some of their risks,” said Alyssa Goslee, Small Business and Finance Program Manager. “But then, should something happen, how they can also recover, respond and bounce back faster.”
The first public workshop will be held Thursday, Sept. 3, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Kapolei Hale.
Additional workshops are scheduled throughout September in Windward Oahu, Honolulu, Central Oahu and the North Shore, along with a virtual session.
