In Poland, a military helicopter was scrambled after radars detected an unidentified object near the border with Belarus. It later turned out that the signal had been caused by a large flock of birds.
This is reported by the Operational Command of the Branches of the Polish Armed Forces (DORSZ).
Through the Air Operations Centre – Air Component Command, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces’ branches launched an investigation into a possible violation of the country’s airspace.
Following suspicions that an unidentified object approaching from Belarus had violated Polish airspace, the Armed Forces Command launched an investigation.

A military helicopter was dispatched to the area of the possible incident to determine the nature of the object. The Polish military also investigated whether the radar signal could have been caused by weather conditions or other atmospheric anomalies.
The command noted that no activity by Russian long-range aircraft linked to strikes on Ukrainian territory had been detected in recent hours.
No violation of Polish airspace detected
After the investigation was completed, the military determined that the detected signals did not indicate a border crossing. The radar alert had been triggered by a large flock of birds.
No threat to the security of Polish airspace was identified.
