Morocco increased its blueberry shipments to Finland in Marketing Year (MY) 2025/26, according to EastFruit, citing Finnish Customs data from Global Trade Tracker. Between July 2025 and June 2026, Finland imported 657 tons of fresh Moroccan blueberries valued at more than US$7 million. The volume was 7.5 times higher than Morocco’s cumulative shipments over the previous five years and 12.5 times higher than the previous record set in MY 2017/18.

Finland’s blueberry imports increased for the third consecutive year and more than doubled over that period. In MY 2025/26, total imports exceeded 4,000 tons for the first time, up 62 per cent compared with the previous year. Spain, the Netherlands, and Chile also increased shipments, while Poland and South Africa lost market share.
Imports began increasing in January with blueberries from Peru, Chile, and the Netherlands. Moroccan and Spanish supplies entered the market in February, and Morocco’s share exceeded 32 per cent in March. Shipments peaked at 180 tons in May. Moroccan volumes increased forty-fold compared with the previous year, the highest growth among suppliers.

By the end of MY 2025/26, Morocco ranked second among Finland’s blueberry suppliers, accounting for a 16.2 per cent market share.
Morocco also increased its presence in other Northern European produce markets during the same marketing year. The country doubled its direct tomato exports to Finland and became the leading supplier of raspberries and blackberries to Norway.
