Russian forces launched a large-scale aerial assault across Ukraine over a 24-hour period, with fresh strikes hitting the capital early Friday, Sept. 11.
The overnight attack injured at least two people and set a nine-story residential building on fire in Kyiv. It followed a deadly wave of strikes across Ukraine on Thursday that killed seven people and wounded more than 120 others, according to the Kyiv Post.
The latest strike hit a residential building in Kyiv’s Dniprovskyi district, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration. Shortly before the attack, Ukraine’s Air Force warned that jet-powered Russian drones were heading toward the capital.
Meanwhile, two people were hospitalized after a residential building in Russia’s Volgograd Region was damaged in a missile attack, Governor Andrey Bocharov said, TASS reported.
“Last night, a residential building was damaged as a result of a terrorist missile attack by the criminal Kiev regime on facilities in the Volgograd Region. Two men aged 55 and 42 have been taken to hospital,” the administration of the Volgograd Region quoted Bocharov as saying on its Telegram channel.
According to Bocharov, missile debris fell on an industrial site in southern Volgograd following what he described as an enemy attack.

EU approves 6.1 billion euros for Kyiv for defense needs
The European Commission on Friday approved an additional €6.1 billion for Ukraine to procure different defence products in the field of air and missile defence, ammunition, drones and electronic warfare.
“This essential funding will support Ukraine’s capacity to withstand the continued intensification of Russian ballistic missile and drone strikes,” the European Commission said in a statemet.
Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission: “Today, we have approved €6.1 billion to help Ukraine procure different defence products in the field of air and missile defence, ammunition, drones and electronic warfare. With this approval, Ukraine can now also purchase the Patriot equipment it needs to better protect its skies from Russia’s indiscriminate attacks. Together with our Member States and NATO, we will continue to deliver for Ukraine while strengthening Europe’s own defence.”
“These funds will support the procurement of defence products from both EU and Ukrainian companies. Following agreement by EU Member States on Monday, the decision also enables Ukraine to procure PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems. Funded under the €90 billion Ukraine Support Loan, the package includes five derogations from standard eligibility conditions: three for Ukrainian-made drones and components exceeding cost thresholds, and two for US-made equipment, in particular PAC-3 missiles, including via the NATO-coordinated PURL mechanism,” said the statement.

Russia claims strike on cargo vessels carrying equipment for Ukraine
Russian defence ministry said today that its forces had hit three cargo vessels in the Black Sea near the ports of Chornomorsk and Odesa, carrying equipment for Ukrainian military forces, Sky News reported.
Several logistic centres in various regions of Ukraine were also struck, the ministry said.

Officials asked people in the city to seek shelter amid a drone alert.

Russia launches strikes on warehouses in Kyiv’s Bucha district
Rescue workers continue to extinguish a fire at warehouse facilities in the Bucha district of Kyiv Oblast, which broke out as a result of a Russian attack on the night of September 10.
“Overnight, Russian forces attacked warehouse facilities. The strikes caused a fire in the Bucha district. While firefighters were extinguishing the blaze, the enemy launched a second strike. Despite the danger, rescue workers continued their efforts,” the State Emergency Service of Ukraine said in a statement.
The fire has been contained, and it is not spreading.
Cleanup efforts are ongoing.

Ukrainian drones strike Ozon logistics center in Russia’s Saratov
Ukrainian drones targeted an Ozon logistics center and delivery hub in Russia’s Saratov region, TASS reported.
No one has been reported injured in the attack, the Russian e-commerce retailer said.
\”Our logistics center and delivery hub in Saratov came under a drone attack. We acted promptly to evacuate staff, and there were no injuries, according to preliminary information. A fire occurred, and emergency services are working at the scene,\” Ozon said in a statement.
