Lil’ Drug Store Products Inc. has acquired Navajo Inc.’s Health, Beauty and Wellness business, including its Trial and Travel division. The deal closed on Sept. 4, Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Lil’ Drug Store Products said Thursday in a news release.
The deal broadens Lil’ Drug Store Products’ reach beyond convenience and travel into grocery and drug channels, the company said.
“This acquisition extends our strategy to provide consumer health and personal care suppliers with a more comprehensive retail solution,” said Chris DeWolf, president and CEO of Lil’ Drug Store Products. “Navajo’s strength in grocery and drug complements our leadership in convenience and travel, expanding our brand partners’ ability to reach consumers wherever they shop.”
The acquisition does not include Navajo’s eyewear, mobile electronics and general merchandise businesses.
“For decades, Navajo has built strong relationships with suppliers and retailers by staying focused on delivering value and exceptional service,” said Deborah Levy-Abreu, CEO of Navajo Inc. “We are proud of what our team has accomplished and believe this transaction positions the business for continued growth and success. Lil’ Drug Store Products shares our customer-first mindset, and we are confident this combination will build on our legacy while taking the business to the next level.”
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Denver, Colorado-based Navajo Inc. is a privately held manufacturer and distributor of consumer-packaged goods across all channels of retail trade. It was founded in 1978 and has built its reputation on proactive category management and customer service spanning health, beauty, wellness, general merchandise, electronics and eyewear, the company said. Its facilities include more than 400,000 square feet of manufacturing, display fabrication, distribution and showroom space.
Lil’ Drug Store Products has connected retailers and brands with consumers since 1974. The family-owned company provides category management, distribution and brand partnership services across health and beauty, automotive supplies, cellular accessories and sunglasses, reaching more than 180,000 retail locations across convenience, travel, hospitality and alternative retail channels, it said.
