Belarus, Azerbaijan to Begin Joint Karabakh Agrotown Project Soon
Belarus and Azerbaijan plan to begin the joint construction of an agricultural town in Karabakh in 2027, Belarusian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Dmitry Pinevich said.
Pinevich said the project is currently in the design phase and will include several agro-industrial complexes, according to Report.
“We will complete the design of the agricultural town, together with several agro-industrial complexes, in 2027. If everything goes well, we plan to begin joint construction there in 2027,” the ambassador said.
Belarus and Azerbaijan are also planning to launch joint elevator production in Aghdam in 2027, with the participation of Belarusian company Vertusgulnar, Pinevich said.
The project is expected to further expand industrial cooperation between the two countries in Karabakh.
The ambassador said recent inter-ministerial consultations between Belarus and Azerbaijan covered a broad range of bilateral relations, including trade and economic cooperation, education, culture and sports.
Pinevich said that the consultations reaffirmed previously agreed projects as well as the two countries’ mutual interest in supporting each other at international platforms.
The countries also plan to continue participating in each other’s international events and exhibitions. A Belarusian delegation is expected to attend the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Baku in October, while Azerbaijan is set to participate in the INNOPROM exhibition in Belarus.
Pinevich added that the two countries will continue regular consultations at various levels, including between foreign ministers and deputy foreign ministers.
The next round of inter-ministerial consultations will include a broader plan covering cooperation across multiple sectors, he said.
