However, the Auckland concert and planned shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth have now been cancelled.
Puth had not publicly addressed the cancellations by tonight, but fans on social media said they were “devastated” by the news.
“My partner and I are so disappointed,” one commented.
“Just got the email half an hour ago, so upset,” another wrote.
Puth is best known for hits including Attention and We Don’t Talk Anymore, as well as Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again, on which he featured.
The song appeared in Furious 7 and served as a tribute to actor Paul Walker, who died before filming was completed.
Puth’s latest album, Whatever’s Clever!, was released in March.
