Yashin, who is in the United States, had planned to travel to Yerevan and go to a polling station on September 20 to join “a big antiwar line,” and to meet with antiwar Russians.
“But while I was in Washington, I was warned about certain risks connected to my trip to Armenia. I can’t go into details, but this involves a physical threat. Unfortunately, I can’t ignore that information, and I have to follow security protocols. So the trip to Armenia is being postponed, and my participation in the events planned there is canceled,” Yashin said on his Telegram channel.
He still plans to take part in the “Noon for a Peaceful Russia” protest, he said. At noon on September 20, he intends to go to the polling station near the Russian Embassy in New York.
