President Lee Jae Myung said Monday that he has yet to decide whether to accept chief of staff Kang Hoon-sik’s resignation.
Speaking at a senior aides’ meeting, Lee said he understood that Kang appeared to be seeking to “graduate” from his post, while noting that presidential aides have been working around the clock and facing physical strain and health concerns.
Lee thanked Kang and the other aides for their long service, saying many of them are physically exhausted after working hard for an extended period.
He added that the aides could take some comfort in the thought that their difficulties may not be as great as those experienced by people facing hardships in their daily lives and at workplaces.
