Picture this: you’re sitting aboard a train, taking in the beauty of Lake Winnipesaukee, and the mountains while enjoying a big, comforting turkey dinner.

Yep. A turkey dinner on a train!

The Winnipesaukee Railway’s Turkey Dinner Train departs from Meredith for a roughly two-hour round trip along the western shore of Lake Winnipesaukee. And the dinner? It’s catered by a true New Hampshire staple: Hart’s Turkey Farm.

As someone who grew up going to Meredith since I was four years old, this feels extremely nostalgic.

Hart’s Turkey Farm was always one of the places my family would go when we were vacationing and visiting the Lakes Region. So the idea of combining that classic turkey dinner with a scenic train ride through one of the most beautiful parts of New Hampshire feels like the ultimate Granite State experience.

And apparently, I’m not the only one who thinks it’s worth experiencing.

A local shared, “We went last year and it was fabulous! They came down the isle and served from hot trays and carved from a full turkey! I recommend it!”

The dinner includes roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, butternut squash, gravy, cranberry sauce, rolls and butter, plus warm apple crisp for dessert.

And while you eat, you’ll get views of Lake Winni, including the shoreline, Weirs Beach and Paugus Bay- absolutely beautiful and memorable staples of my childhood.
