Earlier this month, I was in Brussels with peacebuilders from Israel-Palestine and other conflict zones across the world, asking what societies trapped inside apparently intractable conflicts might learn from those that had found ways to move beyond them. Again and again, we ended up with the same question: what happens when acknowledging somebody else’s story starts to feel like erasing your own?
