Something fishy is going on in this story – I don’t want to be disrespectful or speculative, but it seems like the lad was partying and staying with the wrong crowd, and something bad has happened.
This sort of shite does nothing but cause distress to his family and sell terrible newspapers to terrible people.
He made a phone call saying he was lost and thirsty over a week ago now.
All this other stuff is just to get us to get us to click because people are interested in this story.

A normal guy today beats someone with a machete and steals 12k watches? I feel bad for this kid’s parents, but they’re trying to make him seem good when he wasn’t.
The simplest answer is usually the right one
He’s an idiot who got lost in arid terrain and died of thirst.

Wasn’t a video released of him getting stabbed in the leg prior to his disappearance.
This case has been weird from day one. It seemed like a standard case of a young bloke in a foreign country, who had taken too many drugs and misjudged the terrain.
Then the mum goes on camera and pleads with with ‘whoever’ to let him go and return him safely. The Go Fund Me set up within hours of the police being informed. Then there’s the alleged drug dealing mate Lucy, who gives an interview, but won’t allow her face to be shown. The story about him being convicted for the machete attack. The now confirmed story of a stolen rolex and a fight with Eastern Europeans. The blokes at the Airbnb have past convictions for drug operations, it keeps getting murkier.
I feel for his family, but the bloke seems to have been caught up in some dodgy stuff and who knows what happened to him?? I dismissed the conspiracy stuff trending on twitter as nonsense, but more and more of it seems to be getting proven as true. Very weird.
