PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Portland Mayor Keith Wilson cast a tiebreaking vote on Wednesday in city council to allow Zenith Energy to sell its fuel storage facility along the Willamette River to a third party.

Zenith filed suit against the city because of the delay in this process, but the sale can now move forward.

This was the second time that Wilson has been asked to make the tiebreaking vote. The mayor’s first tiebreaking vote was in July over public safety funding,

On Wednesday, Councilor Eric Zimmerman said progressive councilors encouraged him to vote “yes” on the Zenith Energy sale, leading to a tie and putting the final decision in the mayor’s hands.
