South Korea has won the gold medal in the men’s kayak four-person 500-meter race at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, marking the country’s first gold in canoe sprint at this competition.
The team, comprising Cho Gwang-hee, Kim Hyo-bin, Jang Sang-won and Choi Min-kyu, completed the finals on Thursday at Miyoshi Lake Canoe Course in Miyoshi, just east of Nagoya, with a time of one minute 22-point-587 seconds.
This victory also marks the country’s ninth gold medal in Aichi-Nagoya.
South Korea finished point-255 seconds ahead of China, while Japan came in third, trailing three-point-322 seconds behind the champions.
